These boys were especially recognized for their extensive efforts in the campaign which went over the goal. Andy Nichols will be among the handsome models in Saturday’s fashion show scheduled for 2 p.m. at Rappahannock County Elementary School under the sponsorship of Rappahannock Woman’s Club. Hello America was the theme of the SCA division meeting held Tuesday at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Portraying a skit, “Daisey Belle” were Johanna Day, Gary Leake, Donna Gore, Ivan Deal, Belinda Burke and Chet Fannon. Warren County schools joined Rappahannock for the meeting.

County Clerk Diane Bruce will speak to the Rappahannock County Historical Society about county records as the foundation of the history of the county. She will talk about the various types of records available at the Clerk’s Office, as well as how to find your way around the office and how the records and files may be useful in various types of research. The meeting will be held March 18. Following months of speculation that a full slate of candidates for Washington’s Town Council would not file by Tuesday’s deadline, a total of 11 residents declared their candidacies for the May 1 election. Residents stopping for a refreshing drink at the popular spring on U.S. 211 just below the Skyline Drive last week found a new addition at the ancient stone spring box: Large red and white signs stating “Notice, Contaminated Water, Do Not Drink.” The signs have brought a flurry of telephone calls to the National Park Service headquarters in Luray, which referred inquires to the Rappahannock County Health Department.
