Chapmans hosted the party at the Fleur de Lis Plantation on 211.
Invited guests were Thomas Jefferson, who brought Sally Hemmings, a Confederate Colonel and his prissy wife, the county Doctor Ibm and his Misses along with the servants, Moses the butler and Marne the cook and two of the crop sharers from down the lane. The guests dined on chicken breast with artichoke dressing, seafood gumbo, and shrimp etouffee.
The Chapmans were gracious host. The wine came from the Gray Ghost Vineyard. It was a grand ball.
