Frances Wyatt Cottrell Lyne, 85, of the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community died on Friday, March 3 at the retirement community.
She was a native of Toano and James City County and a long time resident of Rappahannock County.
Mrs. Lyne was an elementary school teacher for 20 years and a masterful cook.
She was a member of Mitchells Presbyterian Church in Mitchells and a long time member of the Rappahannock County Garden Club. She also volunteered in fund raising projects with the American Cancer Society in Rappahannock County.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Lyne of the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community; a daughter, Mary Peachey Lyne of Manlo Park, Calif.; a son, David Cottrell Lyne of Warrenton; a brother, Mahlon Cottrell of Tbano; four grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held on Monday, March 6 at Mitchells Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Grotz officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mitchells Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 98, Mitchells, Va. 22729.
