Party at Cooter’s
Movie to air Friday
The new Dukes of Hazzard reunion movie “Hazzard in Hollywood” will air on Friday night May 19, and Cooter’s Place in Sperryville is going to throw a party for the occasion. Ben Jones, who played Cooter the mechanic on the show, will be hosting a watch party with big screen TVs, free popcorn and peanuts and live music.
“It’s just like the old days,” says Jones, “Friday night at 8 p.m. on CBS, where the ‘Dukes’ were an American ritual for seven years.” The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with music and an airing of the first reunion film. Cooter's Place is located on US 211 about one mile west of Sperryville.

Committee to meet
The Sperryville Gateway Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall to get a first look at the winning proposal by The Cox Company to improve Main Street in SperryviNe and the Thornton River corridor.
