The recent burglary of the Burgers ‘N’ Things in Sperryville is under “intensive investigation,” according to Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz.
Taken in the burglary was a cash register and undisclosed amount of money. Entry •was gained through an unlocked window, and nothing else was reported stolen.
“We are making headway,’ said Sherertz. “We are pursuing a number of leads.”
Also under current investigation is the theft of a compact disc stereo player from a home on Route 707 near Sperryville.
According to the investigator’s report filed on May 13, the complainant heard movement during the night, but assumed it was a guest returning to the house.
The following morning, he found the door to the house standing open and the stereo missing.
Dep. Connie Compton is investigating the theft.
