Ben Jones had a long and distinguished career in entertainment and political life. He grew up in a railroad shack by a freight yard in. Portsmouth. While attending the University of North Carolina he began acting professionally in summer stock theatre.
He has appeared in over 80 theatrical productions, 25 feature films, and hundreds of television programs. He became internationally recognizable as one of the stars of the “Dukes of Hazzard,” the television classic that is still a cable hit on The Nashville Network.
His recent film work includes featured roles in “Meet Joe Black,” “Primary Colors,” and “Joe Gould’s Secret.” Recent television roles “Sliders,” A1 Franken’s “Lateline,” and “Hazzard in Hollywood,” a CBSTV movie of the week to be aired May 19.
From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Jones served in the United States Congress, representing the Fourth District of the State of Georgia.
