Throughout the discussions, Mr. Tompkins repeated his call to use the Wastewater Committee to solve the problem, and suggested that an open Committee meeting be scheduled. Town Council member Reinhardt Lynch agreed and recommended that PEC meet with the Committee, “not with the Mayor, not with the Treasurer.”
The wastewater discussion was closed after Charlie Tompkins asked, “Does the Council have confidence in the Committee?” and the members of the audience responded almost unanimously in the affirmative. When Mr. Tompkins repeated the question to the Council they too responded affirmatively, some appearing swayed by the sentiment expressed by the gallery.
