the health of the children and to assure that the school grounds will be available for future Relays. Two of the most important rules in this regard are: 1) dogs or other pets are not permitted; and 2) glass bottles or other glass utensils should not be brought on to the school grounds.
Other prohibited items and activities include: firearms, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, open fires, digging holes, and littering.
The playground equipment will be off-limits but rollerblading and skating will be permitted in designated areas, although helmets and pads will be required. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Loitering in areas not used for
Relay activities is forbidden.
“Rules are necessary for w the health and safety of us all,” said Mr. Atkins, “but the most important rule for the Relay is: Have fun!”
