Class reunion planned

Since 1961 there have been 427 graduates taught by 24 instructors of the LPN program currently located at CarverPiedmont Tech Center. There will be a reunion of all classes starting in 1961 through 2000 on June 3 at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper. Current addresses are need. Call Earl Aylor, RN, BSN, 547-3911 for details.

18th Century Market Day set

An 18th Century Market Day will be held at Ben Lomond Manor House on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will experience the sights and sounds of an authentic Market Day with historical interpreters demonstrating, general living skills, blacksmithing,.candle making, wood working, paper making, hunting, spinning, weaving, tomahawk and knife throwing demonstration skills, a fire eater and fortune teller.

There will be food preparation demonstrations by “Tasty Critters” of Virginia Beach cooking over open fires, stews, chilies, biscuits, pies and much more, available for tasting. Admission charge is $5 per family; $3 for adults; $2 for children 8-16 of age, with those under seven getting in free. For more information call 703-257-0707.

The manor house is located at 10311 Sudley Manor Road. From Route. 66, take Sudley Road at Route 234 business exit, south through four stoplights turning left on Sudley Manor Drive towards the Splash Down Park. The house will be your right down about 3/4 of a mile.

Sharp Rock Vineyards open

Sharp Rock Vineyards is open every Saturday from noon until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The vineyards are also open by appointment during the week. To reach the vineyards from Sperryville take Route 231 approximately eight miles, turn right onto Sharp Rock Road and go one plus miles and the winery is on the right. Exciting news for youth, ages 10-18 of the Culpeper and Rappahannock areas. Come join us at Youth Alive of Amissville, an exciting new youth ministry with contemporary Christian music and awesome Bible teaching.
