Rappahannock is a special place to live

in! I hope it stays the same for a long time. There are so many things I love about it.

I love the rivers and the sound they make. I love going swimming in them when it is hot outside. I also like catching crayfish.

The mountains are so pretty. They help keep the wildlife here. I feel lucky to see bear and deer in my yard. I love looking at Old Rag and seeing all the bumpy rocks. I love going hiking and having a picnic at the top. I love looking down and seeing all the ponds, the houses and the roads. It is so quiet up there.

I love all the big, old, fat trees in our county. I love how the branches sway in the wind. I love seeing the bright green leaves when they come out in the spring.

Our leaders would be wise to protect our natural resources. Laws could be written to protect the wetlands so the peepers will come every spring. The old trees need protection so that they don’t get cut down. So that our rivers stay fresh and clean, we could pass laws that don’t allow pollution. To help our views stay beautiful, people should not be allowed to build on top of mountains, cut down too many trees or build tall build
