David, Renee and Nikki Calisto hosted a Mother’s Day cookout at their home on Sunday. Their guests were Brenda Hensley, Christine Vest, Allen, Kim and Kirkland Vest, Victoria Hudson, Mark and Crystal Werner and boys, Josh and Jarad, Grady and Doris Vest.

Harlan and Ann Jones of Florida arrived on Sunday to spend a week with her sister, Louise McCulloch and among other family members and friends in the area.

Rodney Vest and Charles Whorton of Woodville visited Mrs. Christine Vest on Sunday.

Jim Curtis of Linden spent Mother’s Day with his parents, Jack and Mary Curtis.

Mrs. Barbara Gentry attended a Retired Postmasters luncheon at Courtland, recently and was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Parr at Haynesville.

Proclaim the Word Services will be held on May 22 through 24 with Alan and Patti' Brown as guest speakers. A covered dish dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Sunday school room on Tuesday at Willis Chapel and on Wednesday at the fire hall in Flint Hill. Services will follow the dinner each evening at 7:30 p.m. at the churches.
