Mr. Marum will perform that song as well as another new Civil War composition, “A Prayer from Little Round Top,” which tells the tale of an Irish Confederate killed at the Battle of Gettysburg. In addition to his Civil War songs, the Dallas singer and guitarist will perform his wide range of folk music at the Old Sperryville Bookshop on Main Street in the historic village. He will perform on the afternoons of both June 3 and 4.
Also appearing at the event will be The Ethiopian Serenaders, who perform “plantation music” and other popular favorites of the 19th Century. The group, composed of Virginia musicians who perform at many Civil War events, includes fiddle, banjo and guitar players. They will play Saturday, June 3, between 1-3 p.m. at the book shop and at the Faith Mountain Company store.
