Other activities:
• The Board voted unanimously to approve Fire Levy Board recommendations for payments.
• Administrator McCarthy and Chairman Estes reported on their attendance at a hearing on the banning of tractortrailers from Route 17 in Fauquier County. This ban, if approved, is expected to increase tractor-trailer traffic on Route 522. State Senator Potts will submit bill to the State Legislature, and Mr. McCarthy and Mr. Estes noted that both Fauquier County legislators support the bill, but that Rappahannock is joined in its opposition by the trucking industry, and by Madison and Culpeper Counties.
• County Attorney Peter Luke and Mr. McCarthy sought and received Board okay to negotiate with two firms for the surveying of the joint borders of Rappahannock, Warren and Fauquier Counties, and for the expenditure of up to $35,000 for the work. The three counties will share the cost of surveying.
• Supervisor Anderson sought clarification on the free tuition benefit for out-of-coun
