Rappahannock County residents are featured at the Farmer's Market at the Archwood Green Barns on Route 245 between The Plains and Route 66. After sampling vendor's products, one food critic referred to the market as a Gourmet Farmer's Market. It is also unique in being the only market under a roof as it is housed in a renovated bam.
Heidi Eastham's cheeses are very popular. These are produced at the Eastham's Rucker Farm Tack House Kitchen from milk provided by goats lovingly tended by Heidi and Lindsay Eastham of Flint Hill. ! The Easthams sell a number of different cheeses. The robustly flavored Jordan River Che'vre is a particular favorite. Visitors return again and again for these superb cheeses and have learned to arrive at the market soon after the 11 a.m. opening for supplies are always limited.
