the administration has "been struggling with trying to find a satisfying bid for health insurance." The rates at Trigon, the present carrier, increased 40 percent and the school budget permitted only a 25 percent increase. The most likely option for insurance this year is a Trigon PPO product, "Local Choice", but that would significantly change the health insurance program structure and increase the cost to employees. A meeting is scheduled on Aug. 16 with Trigon and Local Choice to further discuss options and costs.

Holly Pendleton presented Cisco Certified Networking Associate Certificates (CCNA) to Ian Blubaugh and Marshall Gangel, two of the six students who had successfully participated in the two year Cisco Networking Program at Rappahannock County High School. The four semester program provides teaches students how to design, build and maintain computer networks and, after successful completion of the coursework, permits the students to sit for the CCNA examination. The other four students who completed the networking program are Colin Nichols, Aaron Price, Jeremy Slack, and Matthew Wolfe.

'Assistant Superintendent Mary Ann Biggs provided school-wide SOL testing results for 19992000 that show that the third grade met state standards ixf three of four subject areas, the fifth grade met standards in all of five areas, the eighth grade met standards in all of five areas, and the high school met standards in six of eleven areas.
• Budget and Finance Committee member Franklin Warner distributed the committee's recommended petty cash policy. The revised policy, he said, "attempts to set out a petty cash person separate from the Office of the Director of Finance." The policy will be discussed at the Spetember meeting.
• Aileen Johnson reported that Piedmont has delayed its July auction and that p graduation ceremony will be held at Piedmont-Carver on Aug. 30 for all GED recipients.
