Harrison Powers of Amissville has just returned from a week of forestry training at £he Jamestown 4-H Camp. He is the first Rappahannock 4-H member to attend the 4-H •Forestry Camp, the first of its kind in Virginia. * m ^Treasurer Charlie Compton reported yecently that Amissville Fire Company ^grossed $9,762.41 from the annual carnival >neld the middle of August. This annual fund Raising event was very successful, though a Rapacity attendance was not had as compared 4o former years.
IMiss Virginia Lee Smith, a daughter of Mr. >nd Mrs. Harry Lee Smith of Spring House jFarm, Washington will be a student at ^Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, Va. this Sail. ^While in high school, Miss Smith was a •>nember of the Drama Club, Red Cross, Music ^Appreciation Club, Science Club and was ^active in several other activities. ■ *The ground breaking and dedication service JJfor the Baptist Mission to be built at Chester 2Gap will be held Sunday, Sept. 3. The mission $s being constructed jointly by Shiloh Baptist ^Association and the present mission there.
