She was born Jan. 21, 1912 in Page County, a daughter of the late Isaac William Judd and Mary Alice Judd.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Aug. 26 at Amissville Baptist Church by the Rev. John S. Farrar. Burial was in the Hitt family cemetery at Amissville.
Mrs. Hitt was a homemaker and a long-time active member of the Amissville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Amissville Homemaker’s Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary H. Brown and Marion Woodward, both of Amissville; three sons, Mason Hitt Jr. of Warrenton and John F. Hitt and Martin Hitt, both of Amissville; one sister, Viney J. Holmes of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and two brothers, Lewis Judd of Amissville and Cleveland Judd of York, Pa.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Mason Linwood Hitt Sr. and a daughter, Irma Holmes.
Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton was in charge of the arrangements.
