A Rixeyville man was arrested and confined in the Rappahannock County Jail as the result of an incident that occurred just after midnight on Aug. 23.

Robert L. Corbin, 32. has been charged with being drunk in public and obstruction of justice in the incident.

According to the report filed by Deputy Anthony Berry, the Sheriff’s Office dispatcher received a complaint that a man at a residence off U.S. 211 was acting irrationally, and had been observed leaving the area in an automobile.

Deputy Berry located the vehicle, and found Corbin, who was not driving, to be intoxicated. However, when Deputy Berry’ tried to arrest him, Corbin resisted and had to be physically restrained.
