Jane Kidwell and Kim Helmer, both of Castleton were among the 23 Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts from Virginia who attended the Wyoming Trek from July 31 through Aug. 16. Jane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Kidwell Jr. and Kim's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Helmer.
Members of the Rappahannock County Garden Club and friends went by chartered bus last Wednesday on a field trip to the Nation’s Capital to visit the Washington Cathedral and its Bishop’s Garden.
A photo of new teachers at RCES and RCHS appeared. The three new teachers at RCES were Ellen Becker, Terry Mielechowski and Susan Farley. There were seven new teachers at RCHS, Valerie Gehringer, Mary Anne Biggs, Dean Hahn, Shelly Wolfe, Libby Snead, Jeanne Griffin and Glen Davis.

In a “Fruit of the Vine” photo Mel Naumann was harvesting grapes at Persimmon Springs Farm in Huntly. The Chardonnay grapes, owned by Donna and Bud Brune, are sold to neighboring wineries.
