County, one of many areas in the state hard-hit by drought this summer. The Rappahannock Farmers’ Association has arranged for Rappahannock-grown hay to be picked up by Clarke County farmers at Vierling’s warehouse in Flint Hill. So far more than 500 bales have been donated.
James Marangoni of Castleton, the Rappahannock County deputy coordinator of emergency services, was among 11 Virginia residents to attend the 1991 Radiological Officers’ Conference in Harrisburg, Pa. last week.
Tim Mahoney, age 16 and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mahoney, hosted Akihiro Kawahara, also age 16 this summer. Yoshimasa Otsuka, age 13, visited Mark Jenkins, age 13, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Jenkins. Akihiro and Yoshimasa, Japanese students, arrived on July 26 and stayed until Aug. 21. They were part of a 39member 4-H LABO exchange group visiting 4-H families throughout Virginia for four weeks.
