The end of summer is
(jrawing closer. School has started and the leaves of my \lmlnut tree have started to fallrCold weather will soon b^liere and all of our flower gardens will be brown. •I Before you know it, tfelloween will be here, tjien Thanksgiving and Christmas. And of course, the leaf watchers will be heading to the mountains, so US 211 will be very busy.
There is about a month cfp so left before the Amissville Fall Festival on Oct. 13. If you have not already been in contact with the AACA for your space or to volunteer, please call Victoria Miller at 9374298 or Sharon Komar at 937-5225.
The Boy Scouts will be there, Kettle Korn, Partylite, Central Coffee Roasters, Amissville Baptist Church, Touchstone Farm, Amissville Ruritans, sandart, Llama Ranch, wool spinning, silent auction, S & S Crafts and of course plenty of food.
On Friday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. at the Salem Fire Hall, there will be a Pickin’ Party. All are invited to attend; tjie firehouse is located on Route 522. v There will also be a pickin’ Party at Hackley’s’ Store on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and instruments. Enjoy old-fashioned sodas and ice cream. All are welcome.
