Beahm reunion announced
The George Washington-Nancy Bolen Beahm reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 2 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish an drink of choice.
Table covers, plates, plastic eating ware, etc. will be available. All are welcome. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Annual meeting set
Southern States Front Royal Cooperative will hold its annual membership meeting on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Bowling Green Country Club North, 838 Bowling Green Road, Front Royal beginning at 7:30 p.m.
With the theme “Working to Make the Business of Farming Pay Better,” the meeting will include reports on both local and company-wide operations, as well as the election of local board members. Retiring board members will also be recognized.
Jenkins reunion set
The families of the late Aubrey R. and Ellen Baker Jenkins will have a reunion on Sunday, Sept. 9 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Park. Those attending should bring a covered dish. All are invited. For more information call Linda Dwyer at 987-9225.
Blue Moon schedule
Blue Moon Cafe will host a Labor Day Music Festival beginning with Catfish Hodge Trio on Friday, Aug. 31. On Sept. 1 Black Sheep will perform and Stick ’Em Up will play on Sunday evening. Whorton family reu nion set
There will be a family reunion at the Rappahannock Park near Washington Sept. 1 for the family and friends of the late Henry T. Whorton and Lillie M. Cloud Whorton. “Come, bring a covered dish and join us," said a family spokesperson.
Music festival planned
The sixth annual Rappahannock Music Festival will be held on the weekend of Sept. 15 and 16 in Sperryville. This is the free outdoor concert featuring local musicians of different ages, abilities and musical styles. Anyone interest in playing or volunteering to help present the two-day concert may call Brian Ross at 987-1010 or Mountainside Market at 987-9100.
Registry of Artists
Articulture, a newly formed group of artists, invite talented Rappahannock individuals of all medias to register for an upcoming data base designed to stimulate art awareness and business. Forms are available at the library as well as various small businesses throughout the county.
Clinic will be open Sept. 5
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, Sept. 5 and not again until Sept. 19. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Health Department Building. Super Pantry program to begin
A Super Pantry program sponsored through a partnership between Rappahannock Cooperative Extension and Blue Ridge Food Bank will be held at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church beginning Sept. 11 for seven weeks. The event will be held on Tuesdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Those attending will get fun nutrition education; hands on cooking skills; planning and shopping tips; prizes; a bag of groceries each week plus a cookbook. To enroll call Jan Besecker at 675-3619.
JuYlior Cotillion activity
The National League of Junior Cotillions, Culpeper Chapter, is pleased to announce the opening of the 20012002 season of dances and balls with the first dance scheduled to be held Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Culpeper Middle School.
