Rappahannock County offices will be closed on Lee-Jackson Day on Jan. 17 and on Martin Luther King Jr., Day on Jan. 20.
Farmers urged to
respond to census
Farmers in the county and the commonwealth are being urged by Gov. Mark Warner to support the agriculture industry by responding to the Census of Agriculture before the Feb. 3 deadline. Census information helps evaluate policies and programs for Virginia agriculture.
Land use deadline
is Jan. 27
Any taxpayer who is currently enrolled in or wishes to enroll in the land use program and has not completed a new application or returned all necessary documentation for the 2003 tax year must do so prior to Jan. 27 in order to qualify for the program. Any questions, call the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office at 675-5370.
