Music teachers and students of music, mark your calendars now.

The Rappahannock County Lions Club Bland Music event will be held on Sunday, Feb.23 at 2 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington.

This musical event is open to all students who attend school in Rappahannock County or are home schooled.

This event is divided into vocal and instrumental divisions, with prize dollars given to the top three winners in each of the divisions.

Applications may be picked up at these locations: Rappahannock County Library; Rappahannock County High School (office); Rappahannock County Elementary School (office) and Wakefield Country Day School.

Red Cross holds

classes on CPR

and first aid

The Red Cross in Culpeper will be sponsoring classes for the community on first aid and safety at the Red Cross building, 146 N. Main Street in Culpeper.

There will be an adult CPR class on Jan. 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. and on Jan. 18, a class on infant and child CPR, and first aid from 9 a.m. to 4 £.m.
