The Junior Panther Boys’ Basketball team split two games, defeating Signal Knob but dropping a decision to W. C. Taylor.

The team’s record stands at 6-2 on the season. The game against Signal Knob began with Chase Tupper hitting a threepoint basket and saw the Panthers push the lead out to seven points.

Signal Knob made a run and was able toltie the score in the fourth quarter but the Panthers rallied to get the win, 34-29. The W. C. Taylor score was 4931 as Taylor was more athletic that the Panthers.

The JV volleyball team dropped its District opener to George Mason 2-1. The Lady Panthers won the first game and had a 13-6 lead in the third game before the Mustangs rallied to win 15-13. The Ladies stand at 2-3 on the season.

The JV c Boys’ Basketball team improved its record to 7-2 and 2-0 in the District winning four games and losing one. The team defeated Stonewall Jackson 55-46 as Jason Jenkins scored 17 points. Eric Phillips had 10 rebounds. The team dropped their first contest of the season 63-42 to Page County. Ethan Berry had 12 points and Eric Phillips again led the team with seven rebounds.

The team rebounded from their first loss to win their District opener 60-46 over Manassas Park. Ethan Berry had 22 points and Eric Phillips had 14 points and eight rebounds.

“We played a good ballgame tonight. Our defensive pressure was outstanding as we forced the Cougars into numerous turnovers that resulted in easy baskets on our end,” said Coach Mike Leake. <

The team split two games in the Page Holiday Classic defeating Luray and dropping a game to Page. The team picked up its second win in the District with a win over George Mason.

The Varsity Boys’ Basketball team saw their record fall to 0-7 as they dropped the three games they played. The team lost to Page County 66-52 in the opening round of the Page
