Animal Warden Jack Brufee announced that a rabies clinic will be held Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Washington Firehouse from 10 to 11 a.m. Vaccinations for cats and dogs are $3.50 and dog tags are $5.
RCHS sophomore Elizabeth Oliver was judged the winner in Amissville Ruritan’s recent contest to write an essay on the theme of the constitution’s bicentennial. She was presented a $100 * savings bond by Col. Ellis Bingham, chairman of the club’s Patriotism Committee.
Roy Alther, also a sophomore at RCHS, took second place.
RCHS social studies teacher Jeanne Griffin served as RCHS sponsor for the contest. The essays were judged by three members of the staff of Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr. (R-Va.),
