While the town of Washington, Va. slumbered Tuesday night, one restless inhabitant was quietly making preparation to travel.
Silas Woodward, who was confined in Rappahannock County jail on three charges of breaking and entering, made his escape from the jail between bedtime and 1:30 a.m. by way of three locked doors.
; The regular meeting of the Garden Club will be held at the home of Mrs. James M. Settle, Flint Hill, on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. Mrs. W. E. Abbott, a program chairman, will present a guest speaker, who will speak on Virginia ferns. Exhibits will be dried arrangements using pressed ferns.
