Asked to comment on some residents’ concern whether the assessments were “drive-by” assessments, Mr. Didawick said, “No, we don’t do drive-bys. We visit each property that has a dwelling. If no one is home we leave a yellow card. We took a picture of every dwelling.”
Gloria Dodson Switzer, —ho lives with her husband, Milton, in Viewtown, came out of a meeting Friday with other family members who had just met with the assessor, and seemed somewhat positive.
“They were really good in there to talk with,” she said.
“At least he listened to us,” said Janet Dodson Hitt who lives with her husband, Roger, in Viewtown.
“It is hard to live here now,” said Mrs. Hitt. “ People who live here can’t afford these prices. People who come here can.”
