The Rappahannock County School Board took little time last week to select Douglas Baumgardner to fill the Hampton District School Board seat vacated by Rose Ann Sharp.
Mr. Baumgardner said in an interview later that he was “honored to have been selected to fill the vacancy.”
He gave some indication of his initial focus. He said that he saw the position as a challenge and an opportunity, and that he would work to improve communications between the School Board and the Board of Supervisors.
