His many other, more encouraging pictures would not lead one to think Mullany is discouraged.
The variety expressed by the paintings will appeal to most visitors and I can imagine many picking out a favorite. Thomas Mullany is a painter for all seasons.

The 27 watercolors that Lois Manookian has hung at the Long View Gallery in Sperryville show that the representations of landscapes and other things she wants us to see she has the skills to evoke.
As a result, she takes us around our county as well as to such distant places as Maine, Scotland, Morocco, Dominica and Polynesia.
