frogs prefer still waters (lentic habitats) such as lakes, ponds, large puddles, and still backwaters of rivers and streams.
Most frogs eat insects, but the bullfrog, which can grow up to eight inches, has been known to jump and catch small birds as they fly by. I never saw one do this, but I’ve certainly seen huge bullfrogs that seem fully capable of this acrobatic feat.
