Born in Rappahannock
Shirley Jean Alexander North, 62, of Chester Gap died April 26 at Winchester Medical Center.
She was bom March 25, 1941 in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Georgie Lee Alexander Saffell.
Mrs. North worked for Old Virginia Packing Co. and Harmony Hollow Orchard for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Anderson A. North, two daughters, Robin L. Bowman and Tammy R. Williams, both of Front Royal.
Additional survivors include a brother, Robert L. Saffell of Strasburg, a sister, Joyce A. Webber of Winchester, and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held April 30 at Maddox Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Burke officiating.
Interment followed in Williams Family cemetery in Chester Gap.
