Randall Updike, chairman of the Mary Beth Williams Memorial Fund, has written to the Rappahannock County community at large to remind them of the benefit dinner for the memorial fund at the home of Richard and Jeannie McNear on Saturday, May 3 at 4:30 p.m.
This year, said Updike, the memorial fund’s celebration will center, in part, on the life of Jimmy Cannon. Cannon was a “strong supporter” of the foundation. He was active in Rappahannock’s farming community. He died on Jan. 19 at the age of 51.
Updike went on to say: “Mary Beth Williams, whose life has become a symbol of hope, beauty and warmth, died tragically in May of 1997.
Mary Beth was a vibrant, personable teenager.
