The Packing Shed Gallery is to be congratulated to have brought Hans Gerhard’s work to the attention of residents and visitors of historic Little Washington and for having extended the show to May 5.
The gallery did well in persuading the artist to show some of his sculptures rather than only the paintings.
Almost all of the dozen or so paintings are small (12”x 16”); all are acrylics on canvas, simply but suitably framed in unfinished mahogany. They all seem to spring from the same artistic impulse: to deal with color more boldly than this artist has ever
