It is with respect and sadness that Rappahannock County bids farewell to E. Franklin Warner, 74, who died May 20 at his home in Castleton.
“He gave of himself so unselfishly to the people of the county. He will be missed by many. His was truly a success story of Rappahannock sons,” said Robert Anderson, member of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors for the Stonewall-Hawthome District and Warner’s friend.
Warner, who was bom in Rappahannock County on June 16, 1928, was a farmer, civil rights activist and member of the Rappahannock County School Board.
Over the years, he headed key county organizations.
He had been president of the Rappahannock County Lions Club, Rappahannock County Library Board and the Scrabble School Preservation Foundation. He was
