it was recently noted by researchers that patients in cardiac rehabilitation centers who professed to have strong religious faith showed the most improvement. It was found during the course of the study that the more religious faith patients had, the more faith they had in their own ability to complete tasks and to function. This link between religious faith and health and wellbeing has also been uncovered in other studies involving other patient groups. It is noteworthy in that it points to ways by which clergy and other non-medical personnel might help cardiac patients or, indeed, patients of all types. It is entirely possible that some sort of spiritual intervention may help the recovery process.
