Franklin Warner's life personifies
what is good and right about our county. This is true not because he was a great or perfect person f because he was not) but because of his courage, his endurance and his persistent spirit.
He grew up in small rural Rappahannock County to a poor family during a time when most blades were not expected to go anywhere. In fact they were told they were nothing and that they would probably amount to nothing.
Radsm was prevalent back then driven by hatred and ignorance. Slavery had long since been banished but it continued by virtue of economic and social conditions of the time.
