Douglas Baumgardner, who was appointed to the Piedmont District School Board seat last December to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Rose Ann Sharp, announced May 27 that he would not be a candidate for a full term next November.
There are a number of reasons (for not running),' Baumgardner said, one of which is that I'm concerned that I don’t have the type of schedule that lends itself to the job ... I just don’t feel I have the time."
