begins new
chapter in life

In a solemn and joyous rite of passage that turns boys and girls into responsible young women and men, 83 members of the Rappahannock County High School’s Class of 2004 paraded into the gymnasium Saturday morning, wearing mortar boards and blue gowns, to receive diplomas that for many of them capped 18 years of work and dedication.
“Wow!” a smiling, radiant Brittany Thornhill, the Class Valedictorian, told her classmates and a room packed with close to a thousand parents, relatives and friends. “It did not seem like this day would ever come. But it has. We are adults.”
