Aftermath
Members of the community and friends spent Sunday helping Plotnick salvage what she could from the fire and boxing up her belongings.
“It was impressive to see how people came together on Father’s Day to help,” said her friend, June Jordan.
While insurance investigators are determining the monetary extent of the damage, Miranda Plotnick is trying to get on with her life.
For now, Plotnick, who is a familiar face where she works at Cinema Paradiso Movje Rentals in town, needs a home with easy access, said Jordan.
Plotnick walks with a cane and it is difficult to manage distances from her car.

Meanwhile, Washington fire officials are seeking to have demonstrations provided to all county firefighters showing how to properly turn off valves to fire hydrants.
“We want to bring it home,” said Mayor Leggett. “We saved the pipe with the 12 to 14 foot gash. Well be using it as a demonstration for the firemen.” N-1 *
