of Veterans Affairs, 810 Vermont Ave., NW., Washington, D. C. for a government issued headstone for John A. Pullen’s grave. For about 60 years the only marker was a plain fieldstone. In the mid- 1970s Wayne Baldwin had made a rough cement marker in which was etched the name and dates.
The beautiful marble marker was received on April 20 of this year. After the marble stone was erected on Memorial Day, a few words were said to memorialize the day. Refreshments were prepared and provided by David Albee and David Roberts and were served at Thornton Gap church.
