national average is 28. Marguerite Beattie of Woodville scored a perfect 40 out of 40 and won a Gold Summa Cum Laude award. Not far behind were eighth graders Cecilia Marschner and Derek Perry who also received Summa Cum Laude awards. Silver Maxima Cum Laude awards went to Taylor Hammelman, Joy Heddleston of Sperryville and Matthew Wingfield of Flint Hill. Katherine Russo of Flint Hill, Alex Shafran of Amissville, and Kelly O’Conner and Aubree Parker of Front Royal won Magna Cum Laude awards. Cum Laude awards were given to Stephanie Kahrs and Amy Cogar, both eighth graders from Front Royal.
In the Introduction to Latin Level, seventh grader Keenan Sherwood of Little Washington, seventh grader Amanda Sweeny and tenth grader Amber Larkins all received Outstanding Achievements Certificates for getting less than five answers wrong out of 40.
