He died on Oct. 15, 1920 while at his daughter’s home in Culpeper County.
J. W. Humphrey was the attending physician. The undertakers were Thompson & Reager of Culpeper and burial was near Rixeyville. However, two weeks after his death, his remains were taken up and reburied at the family cemetery on Pickerel Ridge in Rappahannock County. This was done by his son John J. Pullen and grandsons, Silas and Luther Atkins, the latter telling this writer in person in the 1970s.
