Ki Theatre’s “Song and Sushi” gala benefit on June 12 was an extraordinary success, both for the pleasure of party goers and as a fundraiser for the community programs of Rappahannock County’s active little theatre.
Some 30 guests attended the exquisitely prepared dinner of, sushi and grilled tuna. Another 20 came for dessert to hear legendary folksong writer and singer Tom Paxton in a private concert at “Patria,” the home of Fran Moore Krebser near Flint Hill. Composer-songwriter and creator of “Kid Pan Alley,” Paul Reisler, accompanied Tom Paxton.
A surprise guest performer, Ysaye Barnwell, of the nationally known a cappella group, “Honey in the Rock” also entertained guests with both song and sing-a-long.
