The Rappahannock County High School wrestlers may have struggled against Rockbridge County High School Saturday in a 57-19 loss, but came back with a vengeance when the team faced Greenbriar East of W.Va. in an all-day tourney at James River High School in Buchanan, Va., where the Panthers placed sixth out of 11 teams on the day.
The Panthers defeated Greenbriar 54-24 with nine pins in a row.
Alex Sharp started the action at 135 pounds, pinning Jared Bronkway in 2:57 with a headlock. Sharp nailed three more pins on the day, one against Roanoke area’s Hidden Valley with a spladle with :14 left in the match, a 1:52 pin
