The Wakefield Country Day School delegation to the Virginia Junior Classical League convention held in Richmond earned more than 40 awards for their performance on academic and artistic tests about Greece and Rome. Welby Lynn of Washington walked away with second place in the 12th grade Individual Sweepstakes and also Best in Show for L r watercolor and ink map of the poems of Catullus. Andrew Lnglis, Jacob and Nick Konick also won awards
The Rappahannock County Elementary' School was in a beehive of activity Friday morning as teachers moved into the new addition. In the first part of the move, kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms were moved into the addition. The K-2 special education class was also moved, and one room in the addition wall be used for a kindergarten resource room. Teams of teachers from both schools were assigned to help with the move for each classroom. The halls were filled with almost every wheeled device in the county as teachers, aides, custodians, and administrators moved furniture and boxes from one section to, another. By 10 a.m. most of the initial move had been completed and the primary teachers were left with w hatever help they wanted to bring order out of the chaos that resulted.
