Rockbridge County in :29, and followed his performance up by pinning Greenbriar East in 1:29. Estes increased his record to 4-4 on the season.
At heavyweight, Morgan Blubaugh pinned Greenbriar East in 1:27, also with a headlock.
The Panthers fell to Hidden Valley 59-31, Liberty 53-30 and in a match that went Rappahannock’s way in the middie and heavyweight matches, fell 39-36 to James River in the final team placing round.
“Were pinning more and getting the first takedown. That’s what scores points,” said RCHS coach Eric Spath.
The Panthers hosted the Wilson Memorial Hornets Wednesday after the Rappahannock News went to press. RCHS’ next meet will be its first district meet of the season against Manassas Park on Jan. 5 at home at 7 p.m.
