So although there is clearly an intellectual process in Frazier’s work, having its roots in his study of art history, there is also a feeling of exceptional spontaneity and freedom in the finished products. Maybe this can be attributed to spontaneity in Frazier’s original drawings at the planning stages, and the fact that he makes up his colors as he progresses through each painting.
