Calling all creatures, great and small. A tree now stands in the Town of Washington, and this gift of natural-made ornaments awaits wild animals during the holiday season.
While most trees are decorated with lights, Christmas balls and bows, the Girl Scouts and Brownie troops in Rappahannock County have decorated this tree with handmade ornaments, made especially with the small critters in mind.
Popcorn, rice cakes and pine cones covered in peanut butter and birdseed, bagels and com adorn the nine-foot Norway spruce on the county courthouse lawn at the comer of Porter and Gay Streets in Washington.
The tree, grown at John and Judy Tole’s tree farm, is the first step in a many faceted project that has been taken on by the Rappahannock League of
