As fuel prices rise* Rappahannock County residents have begun to experience current events as more than tiny writing on their news-ticker of choice.
Gas prices all over the US are rising as a result of the damage done by Hurricane Katrina to the nation’s refineries in the Gulf Coast, and Rappahannock County drivers are starting to feel the effects in their wallets and gas tanks.
Rappahannock was spared the $5.99 a gallon extremes that some D.C. area residents had to face, but prices for gas have risen roughly forty cents a gallon since Hurricane Katrina made landfall on August 29, and it’s clear that some Rappahannock County consumers are rattled by the skyrocketing costs.
“Four days ago it was fifty cents cheaper!,” exclaimed a frustrated driver is Flint'Hill.
